Single-clip video generation is powerful, but sometimes your story needs more. NanoBanana AI's Storyboard mode lets you create multi-scene video narratives with up to 6 individual scenes, each with its own prompt, duration, and creative direction. It is the closest thing to AI filmmaking available today.
How Storyboard Works
In the Video tab, select Storyboard mode. You will see Scene 1 ready to go. Write a description for your first scene -- be specific about the setting, action, and camera movement. Choose a duration for that scene (4 to 60 seconds). Then click "Add Scene" to add more scenes, up to 6 total.
Each scene gets its own prompt and duration selector. This means you can build a complete narrative arc: an establishing shot, character introduction, action sequence, emotional moment, climax, and resolution -- all generated by AI.
Mood Music
Storyboard mode includes an optional mood music feature. Choose from ambient soundscapes, upbeat energy, dramatic orchestral, chill lofi, or cinematic epic. The selected mood influences the AI's interpretation of your scenes, creating more cohesive videos that feel professionally scored. Mood music adds 5 credits to your total.
Parallel Rendering
Here is the best part: all scenes render simultaneously using parallel processing. Whether you have 2 scenes or 6, they all generate at the same time. A 6-scene storyboard completes in roughly the same time as a single scene. Once all scenes finish, they are automatically stitched together into one seamless video.
Credit Calculation
Storyboard pricing is simple: each scene costs credits based on its duration (1 credit per second), and the totals are summed. A 3-scene storyboard with 8s + 15s + 8s scenes costs 31 credits. If you add mood music, that is 5 more credits. The Studio shows your total cost in real time as you build your storyboard.
Creative Tips
Plan your scenes before you start. Think about pacing -- alternate between wide shots and close-ups. Use consistent visual elements across scenes (mention the same character, setting, or color palette). Start with shorter durations to iterate on your concept before committing to longer, more expensive scenes.
